Kid opens on Frith Street from the Mangal II and Oma teams
Restaurant Versus · 5 September 2026 · Soho
Sertaç Dirik and David Carter have opened a modern Turkish restaurant in Soho, cooking Turkish dishes largely from British produce.
Kid opened at 53-55 Frith Street in Soho on 1 September.
It brings together two chefs with substantial London records. Sertaç Dirik is known for Mangal II, the Dalston ocakbasi his family has run for decades and which he took over and reworked. David Carter is behind Oma, the Greek-influenced restaurant in Borough Market.
The menu is described as modern Turkish leaning heavily on British produce — meze and salatas, braised kid goat, and köfte.
Frith Street is one of the more contested addresses in Soho for a restaurant opening, sitting a few doors from long-established neighbours.
